Starry Night Sky Podcasts - Sky events in August 2007
If the skies here on Long Island are clear tonight and my kids cooperate, I am going to see if I can find a dark area to take them to watch the meteor shower.
I dragged my kids to the the South Shore of Long Island and walked out onto the sand of one of the beaches around 10 pm and stayed there about a half hour. Saw lots of starts, but no meteor shower.
Later on during the night, after midnight, I took a peek outside my door and still nothing.

tommy, that IS a bummer! Good try though, and you got a chance to stargaze with the kids. :-D They will remember that.
