By all means let's be open-minded,
but not so open-minded that our brains drop out.

Richard Dawkins, in "Science, Delusion and the Appetite for Wonder," The Richard Dimbleby Lecture, BBC1 Television (12 November 1996)

I laughed out loud when I read this.

I have had so many xians tell me that I am not being open-minded because I won't accept their gawd beliefs and I keep saying that freethought does not mean "gullible."

So, what have I missed? haha

Interesting article. Brings to mind the point I usually make about religion. We used to think the world was flat, the sun revolved around the Earth and the Pharoahs were gods themselves.

Shoot! Now I know why my debates with xians have thus far been futile.

Just set up my own atheist blog. There's only one post so far, but I will write more soon.

It was great Stardust, thanks. I'll try to do a short post on my blog shortly as to not take up time here.

Deedee...love your icon! Praise be to coffee! LOL!

michaelbains... Glad you like my addition to my blog title.

I am so sick of xians calling me a hypocrite because I call myself a freethinker. Freethinker does not mean that I should consider that Isis, Cronus, or Mr. Sandman are real. Freethinkers are not airheads that just consider anything and everything to be true. I am so glad I am "DEPROGRAMMED"
