Every god-botherer believes his or her's is the "real god"

It seems plain as day.

I get so depressed when I look at the blogs of my two xtian friends now:( I actually have to read atheist blogs to feel more normal and cheery - how's that for ironic?

andrea, I know what you mean. One of the things that really bugged me about church is the huge pity party they all had every week and most of their complaints and whining was about trivial stuff. It's like they like feeling bad, and looking at the bad at themselves and in other people. To hear that you are bad week after week gets to be quite depressing! I have a friend who's "uplifting" signature quote on the bottom of her emails reads "when life knockes you down, make sure you fall on your knees"...
They always dwell on the "knocking down" and "down and out" and this victim mentality instead of all that is good, and positive messages. They make everything else seem bleak so the god messages sounds better.

And to think that I used to be so intimidated by some female bloggers who I thought had "better" faith than me. Now I can't even get through their long, groveling blogposts praising their "Master," partly because the elaborate doctrines are so dull, but also because I feel like I'm reading the rantings of a crazy person.

The cartoon on this post pretty much sums it up.

The cartoon reminds me of this qote by Shaw.

"No man ever believes that the Bible means what it says; he is always convinced that it says what he means." - George Bernard Shaw

Beep, this is a great quote and right on the money. I am saving this one in my list of favorite quotes...thanks!

No that picture is all wrong because my pile of rocks is the REAL god. Heck I even got a few sticks in it to show I am better.

Great cartoon I absolutely love it.

Cheers!

I have a similar view as Andrea. The religious sites depress me, but my visits to atheist blogs tend to cheer me up.

There is only one Xtian blog I enjoy reading, but that's because the writer doesn't go out of his way to tell people that his belief is better than anyone elses and he doesn't say anything derogatory about my beliefs. I like reading atheist blogs because they exibit that glorious thing known as 'freedom of thought'. It's so refreshing.

I had a comment on my blog a couple of days back that basically said I was going to go to hell. Unfortunately the commentor was anonymous. I have responded to that persons opinion by explaining to them and anyone else who reads the post exactly why I am not going to hell.

That's what I hate. People who tell that something horrible is going to happen to you if you don't believe in what they do.

I was going to hell, but the Virgin Mary pulled me back from the brink!
