That was an amazing video. I share the Einsteinian type of wonder about the universe. It's a truly humbling video.

alpha, yes, this is a very humbling video. We think we know a lot, and we do in human terms, but there is just so much we don't know, and never will know. The universe is absolutely fascinating.

I love how Einstein pointed out that the entire universe itself is a miracle and that those who claim that miracles happen within it are merely conjurers who are denigrating the majesty of the material universe as a consistent whole.

BTW - Jerry Falwell was found dead on the floor of his office. I can only repeat what Christopher Hitchens quipped on Anderson Cooper's 360: "I think it's a pity there isn't a hell for him to go to...I'm happy to see he skipped the rapture, was found on the floor of his office."

jd...hope you have been doing well.

Yep, Falwell hated everyone. It seems ironic that someone like him can rise to such high levels of celebrity, yet our top physicists, scientists, astonomers, research MDs, etc go totally unnoticed.

I haven't even watched the news about this, nor will I take up posting space about him.

I entirely agree with you that it is a damning indictment of our sick culture that a bigot such as Falwell can rise to celebrity status yet intellectual giants and upstanding moral leaders go unnoticed and unmentioned.

I haven't watched the news about it either, I don't have cable anymore and get my news solely from the net, newspapers and magazines. However, the two following youtube clips of Hitchens regarding the death of the "fat-faced reverend" are well worth the watching:
