I'm here

Hello everyone!

I just want to let you know I am still here. I've been through some medical "challenges" in recent weeks with my ankle surgery, then before I was even out of the boot cast got TWO herniated discs and found out my lower spine is degenerating. Then night before last I got a gout attack in my left big toe. So, have a lame left foot, and my right foot is still need of therapy after surgery. I walk like CP3O!

I had an epidural steroid injection into my spine yesterday and all those magical prayers people were saying for me didn't work (we all know why now, don't we?) The procedure I had failed to alleviate my severe back and leg pain yet, and am still hoping it will kick in soon. I am so weary of having to rely on others to do things for me. My hubby has been great through all of this illness crap, but he can't keep missing work to drive me to the doctors and hospital...and doing all the errands and shopping. He is getting pretty tired out from it all.

I can't sit at my computer for more than a couple minutes at a time because of that. I have TWO herniated discs in my back and degeneration in the low spine. I am trying to figure out a way to blog that won't aggravate my symptoms. Laptop in bed didn't work. I will think of something . Can any of you who has back trouble give me some ideas as to how I can comfortably blog?

I hope to get something together to post real soon!

Hey Stardust! Thanks for the update.

Alternate ways of blogging that might be less strain on the back?

I'm picturing Tom Cruise suspended from the wires in Mission Impossible. Either that, or speak your posts into a tape recorder and give Jason some lunch money to type it out for you! :-)

Ouch, Star! Sorry to hear about your back...did you used to be an athlete or something?
I wish I had some advice for you. I'm sure you'll figure out something. Thanks for letting us know how you're doing.

Hi Tommy, andrea and cyberkitten!

Thanks for your good wishes and for being loyal readers of my little blog.

Tommy, that is so funny about being suspended from wires like in Mission Impossible. LOL. As for Jason I am sure he would post my articles for me even without lunch money even if I am a "socialist commie" LOL

andrea, Sorry to say that I was never into sports, not even to watch on television much. The RA is just attacking my spine for whatever reason. And I had a couple of bad falls in the past that probably has something to do with it, too. The ankle was a tear in one of the tendons.

cyberkitten, you summed it up very well in one word. OUCH!

I see the back surgeon again on Friday and will find out if I need more surgery or what. I don't want another epidural. Those are quite painful. If doctors tell you they aren't, they are lying.

Stardust, I'm glad you're still here. Sorry to hear about all the pain you are in though. What position are you most comfortable in for the longest time. Can you lay on your side on the couch or bed and put your laptop on a table next to you? Although any twisting might aggravate your back.

I hope you find some decent pain relief soon. I hear drugs and booze work well (not necessarily together).

Damn, sorry to hear about the pain you are in!
I'm not sure about a position you can use to blog in.
You are on my home page, I'll be here to get updates when you post though.
Hope you feel better soon.

Get feeling better soon. It all sucks.

I'm thinking something like voice type, maybe?

Damn sorry to hear you going through all that pain, Stardust. I can't help but wonder if someone in your family might have said something ridiculous, like they always do, that you got those pains because you aren't "right with gawd".

My thoughts are with you and I hope you have a speedy recovery.
