Last night I was watching C-Span and they were showing Neil deGrasse Tyson speaking to an audience at the Museum of Natural History in NY where he is the head of the planetarium section and has a new book out called "Death By Black Hole" or something like that.

In commenting on the Dover case, he mentioned that the idea of intelligent design has been around for thousands of years. Every time some brilliant person in a past era got as far as he could with explaining things in the universe with the tools and evidence available to him, he would attribute the unexplainable to God. Centuries later, someone else would come along and push the boundaries of science and knowledge further along, and again, when confronted with the limits of his knowledge, attributes the unexplainable to the work of God.

I had heard of Tyson before, but that was the first time I heard him speak before. He is quite an engaging and dynamic personality and I look forward to reading his book.

Haha - nice cartoon. I might use that on my blog sometime, but with a link back of course.
