Benny Hinn exposed

In the news: Hinn turns over material to Senate panel

“The enemy is not going to steal what the Lord has won through this ministry, and he is not going to use this attack to bring harm to the rest of the churches and ministries in America!”

NBC Dateline investigated Hinn a few years ago, and this show aired on December 27, 2002. I had not seen it until now.

Ever wonder what televangelists do between their globe-trotting conversion crusades? This NBC Dateline special reveals the dubious financial dealings of prominent Christian evangelist Pastor Benny Hinn, uncovering an extravagant lifestyle that would put most true Christians to shame. Reporter Bob McKeown explains what happens to some of the millions of dollars sent to the Hinn Ministry by his devoted followers.

So many suckers…unbelievable that so many can be fooled by Hinn and others like him. It's hard to feel sorry for people who are so gullible.

The sad part about it is I use to like Benny Hinn in myearly Christian days.

Well, cole...millions of others are drawn in by his charisma and dreams that his healing might be real.

I wonder how people can get so hypnotized by him to just drop to the floor in one big sweep of his hand. Mass hysteria...for a guy who can't sing worth a darn and has a really bad comb over.

HaHaHaHa!

I don't know either. I never fell out in the spirit or anything I just use to watch him on T.V. when I was in high school.

Very naive.

Stardust,

You've probably already read about it, but I find this both telling and amusing. Talk about a double edged sword.

Wonderful. I now have a choice between Juan McJesus and the Obamessiah.

Spirula...thanks for the link. I am going to write in someone at voting time. I don't know who yet but I can't bring myself to vote for either of these two choices. It's pathetic with all of the intelligent and capable people in the world that this is what we are stuck with.

Ummm...that gullible person would be my mom too...sad.

tina, so your Mom loves Benny Hinn? What is it she says is so mesmerizing about him? What does she say about all the wealth he has accumulated and the fact he isn't living a very Jesus-like life???

Stardust, all those things being showered on Benny are just a manifestation of the blessings of the lawd upon him for all the good works he has done.

Televangelists are glorified beggars. They are no different than the bum on the street, but have found a more creative and influential way to beg. Exploit people's beliefs and live off the money they give you, even if that money is their last dollar.

The followers who believe he deserves all these riches baffle me. How can people be so damn stupid.

The forces of reason sure do have their work cut out for them!

Yes tommy, they certainly do!

Lawd Lawd! How gullible are his followers!
Course, when you have faith in all that razzamatazz in the bible, I suppose having faith in your minister goes hand in hand.

Love the part where he says "I would gladly die rather than lie to my people" ... He's despicable, but like Starry says, I'm not feeling too bad for his followers. If they can't recognize or refuse to recognize a crook, then so be it.
