That is what we want to do but staying away allows them control. By staying quiet when confronted with religion in public we condone their actions.
What are we to do when we see nut cases praying at a restaurant? Ignoring is condoning. What to say without being too confrontational? If the food is poisoned God will not help? If you choke on a chicken bone do you want to wait for God's help or mine?

Good points. I have been speaking up more and more lately. When xians ask me why an atheist is so obsessed with a gawd since we don't believe gawds exist, I tell them the reason is because xians are obsessed with imposing their gawd beliefs in MY life and into our SECULAR government and I am fed up. We have no other choice but to speak up and tell xians to keep their fantasy beliefs to themselves.
