Missing NY pastor found at Ohio strip club

What is it with these church pastors and sex? Religion doesn't seem to be helping them remain loyal to their wives. I have had close experience with this when it was discovered that the church pastor of the Lutheran school our kids were attending at the time (when we were still Christians), had an on-going affair with the second grade teacher, who was married to the sixth grade teacher...the pastor was married to the kindergarten teacher. Talk about Peyton Place! It was a very tiny school, with a very small student population. I was shocked when I found out. I thought I our kids would get a more "moral" education at a Christian school. Boy, was I wrong!

And I should add that the school and church lost their pastor and three teachers over that affair. Parents had to try to explain it to their chlidren after word got out in the news.
RIVERSIDE, Ohio - Police say a pastor who was reported missing from his home in western New York has been found at an Ohio strip club.

A police officer patrolling the K.C. Lounge parking lot Friday morning in the Dayton suburb of Riverside spotted out-of-state license plates on 46-year-old Craig Rhodenizer's car.

The FBI and New York authorities had been searching for Rhodenizer, who disappeared Wednesday after telling his wife he was getting his computer fixed at Best Buy. He is the pastor of a church in Lyndonville, N.Y.

Detective Matt Sturgeon said Rhodenizer was disoriented when confronted by police and said he felt "emotionally guilty."

Disoriented? *snort* He knew exactly where he was at. :)

Yes, he knew exactly what he was doing.

And "emotionally guilty"...what's that supposed to mean? Like not really guilty, just emotionally at the moment? Like Jimmy Swaggart crying crocodile tears at his pulpit in front of all of America after he was caught? People can see through that baloney. I wonder why these wives can't.

That wife of the pastor of the school our kids attended took him back and he became a real estate agent after the church booted him out. It was a mess. They lost three teachers and a pastor over that affair.

I too was a victim of adultery by my fundie wife with my fundy best friend (church elder).

I knew of cases in every church (well, except for when I was very young and had no concept). I believe a distorted view of human sexualily results in the guilt and sexually repression inherent in conservative christianity. This, I think, causes people to secretly act out. They have an unatural attitude and understanding of human sexuality.

Sexual self-discpline is something compeletly different from the inappropriate sexual guilt or sexual repression their religion teaches them.

spirula, sorry to hear about your experience. How awful...with your best friend!

The churches preach against premarital sex, adultry, etc. but from my experience that doesn't stop anyone. Like you say, they just do it in secret. When I was a member of a youth group when I was a teenager (when we belonged to a Baptist church for a couple of years), some of those kids would give their "testimonies" like good little angels in front of the parents, then when refreshment/activity time came some of them went out to the cars to make out. Some of them made babies and were only teenagers.

There was also an uproar at a church in our town at the Church of the Nazarene. The pastor was having an affair with a parishoner who went to him for "guidance counseling". They ended up having a several month affair...he is married with children.

I know, it's everywhere. It's why I can't understand why millions of people go to church week after week and listen to another human who is no better than they are preach some stuff they already know over and over again. It absolutely doesn't make sense to me except maybe they just want to keep themselves programmed, keep trying to believe they are doing the right things. I dunno.

Rhodenizer? Sounds like something you spray on rhododendrons to make them grow better!

Tommy, that is an odd name, isn't it? I have never heard of anyone with that last name before. It does sound like a botanical insecticide!

He told his wife he was getting his computer fixed??

yeah right...he was getting his "computer" fixed alright. Maybe he dropped his computer off at the Best Buy to be fixed and since he couldn't surf the porn sites decided to go to a strip club and see it live???

The wives of these men are so naive.

I should add that as a New Yorker, I am offended, because the Rhodenizer could have patronized plenty of fine strip clubs here in the Empire State and helped put dollars into our economy instead of Ohio's! Fucking traitor!

But tommy, didn't he think he could hide better in another state?
