Obama spiritual mentor preaching politics from the pulpit

If I was Barack Obama, I would quit this church and stay as far away from it as possible just as he renounced Louis Farrakhan. It’s disturbing to me that a man who says he wants to be a “uniter” supports such a church that seems to be doing little to bring people of different races together, and this pastor is crossing the line when he uses the tax exempt podium to preach his political “sermons” in support of one candidate while tearing down another, and all the rest who were once candidates.

Rev Wright says that Hillary has never been accused by “her own people” for not being white enough. “Her own people” ? I haven’t heard her talk about only serving her “own people” or putting rich corporate America before the needs of poor black Americans. However, I have had some people in my own WHITE family tell me they would never vote for Hillary because a woman does not belong in the Presidency. Most white evangelicals feel a woman has no place as a leader of a nation and should be home washing her husband’s underwear. And let’s not forget…Hillary is trailing and it will take some sort of “miracle” for her to win this nomination.

Hillary and campaigners cannot say anything at all about one’s race, but it is okay for Obama supporters like Wright to bash white people and campaign for a political candidate from the tax free pulpit. Another thing that disturbs me is that Obama seems to be above criticism. All too often, when someone criticizes or questions the Obamessiah, they are accused of being racist. People who oppose Obama must have a team of speech editors to make sure that nothing can be misconstrued as racist.

Getting back to the subject of Rev. Wright, Obama says he doesn’t agree with everything his church pastors say, but how can he be a uniter while remaining loyal to a church that does not promote unity?

Oh…and Wright says"Jesus was a poor black man". That'll piss a lot of folks off from all races. Rev. Wright conveniently overlooks the fact that Obama has a 1.6 million dollar home and is indeed quite “privileged”.Obama is far from poor.

(O/T: I don’t know how people can sit in a church pew and be screamed at by idiots like this.)

I'm sure the "black Jesus" thing will go over big in middle 'Murka.
They luvs them some black Jeebus.

You know, one of the irritating things about this is that you know the IRS will be down on this guy (they should!) but Haggee and Pasley and Robertson will skate. As always.

On a different note, it's nice to see that Mary Ann at least took something useful off the Island.

I love the religious left!

It must be hard being an oppressed millionaire socialist like St. Obama, living literally in a mansion and driving a GMC Envoy. (I know, I know, he got the mansion with the help of Chicago slumlords.) On top of it, Obama preaches that people like me need to do without through higher taxes, and need to drive more expensive autos to combat Global Warming^tm, because St. Obama needs to redeem the world through undefined "programs."

Screw the new programs. I live on a modest income, and would rather do without the ***regressive*** payroll taxes, a kick in the balls for any working person.

It kills me when people like Michelle and Barack Obama claim they've been oppressed and suffered in America. John McCain, who suffered for 5+ years in a socialist POW camp, has sacrificed more for this country than these Ivy League clowns ever will.

Oh, and before we get too cynical (I know, I know there's probably no such thing as "too cynical" in this day and age), life could be worse.

spirula, that is the weirdest abnormal psychology story I have heard in a long, long time. On a toilet for two years? Holy crap!
The boyfriend can't have all his
marbles either if he allowed her to
sit there without calling someone.
And don't they know anyone else who
would think that is a big strange?

There are sure a lot of whackadoos in the world!

It's mind-boggling to me to see liberals jumping on the Jesus train, and a black-separatist Jesus train at that!

And with Obama it's much, much more than just appealing to the religious right. He has actually devoutly followed this religion of his for more than 20 years and wrote a book about it inspired by crazy-ass Rev. Wright. Mind-boggling.

I have been a voter for about three decades, and in my early years of voting we heard little about a candidate's personal beliefs. If they consulted a sky daddy we didn't hear about it much. I knew Nixon was a Quaker, Carter a Baptist, etc. but religion was never center-stage as it is now. All other issues get lost in the shadow of the candidate's personal religious beliefs.

And before people start putting McCain on a pedestal, here's a FreeRepublic link on Ace McCain.

Also, he has a history of being "American Empire" minded, which is a family thing too. He makes many conservatives very nervous (i.e. another war).

Interesting info, spirula, It seems that McKlutz had trouble keeping his planes in the air. And all those medals for 20 hours of actual combat duty? I didn't know that. a medal an hour. Hmmm. interesting.

Yes, we are pretty certain to continue the war in Iraq indefinitely under McCain, along with the probability of getting in another one. However, I think the likelihood of getting into a war in Africa or Pakistan is a possibility under Obama. We really don't know what Jeezus will tell him to do when he talks to him every night.

I have said this before, I am voting for Mick E. Mouse as a write-in this time or I may not even show up at all.

Well, if Obama does win, I doubt he will have much free time to attend church services in Chicago on a regular basis.

Another part of that McCain thing is that he was such a shitty pilot, I don't think anyone was surprised he got shot down and so soon. This is not to dismiss the torture and suffering he endured, but he was pretty much a joke to his peers and superiors. One has to wonder how much his fathers Admiralty played into him not washing out.

I am voting for Mick E. Mouse as a write-in

Why not write in your own name? Might look pretty good on a C.V..

"Awards: 2008, Received vote for President of the United States of America."

(Oh, I just noticed that should be Parsley not Pasley)

tommy, no need to attend services, the associate pastors of his church go wherever he goes. I am sure he will appoint one of them as his own personal "spiritual guide" if he gets to the White House.

spirula, That isn't a bad idea! Maybe I will vote for you. ;)

Well, Barack Hussein will probably win Illinois whether you or I vote or not. However, he isn't going to win Michigan, or Pennsylvania, or Ohio after being exposed like this. Obama already lost Florida, given he supports Ahmadinejad and Castro. Hell, Bush can go to war with Iran, and unemployment can hit 10%, and I believe Obama will still lose.

Until recently, no one nationally knew about the megachurch on 95th street. I personally knew they preached liberation theology, but I didn't know it was that racist and conspiratorial. I also didn't realize how close Obama was with his "spiritual advisor" -- the title "The Audacity of Hope" comes from one of Wright's crazy sermons.

I absolutely do not want the Farrakhan crowd running the federal government, especially the types that sympathize with Muslim supremacists. I would vote for Ted Kennedy before I'd let Barack Hussein Obama into the White House.

I would feel totally embarrassed for voting for Obama in 2004, but then again, Alan Keyes is on the same plane of crazy, sans the charisma.
