Trust in God is a religious concept and has no place in our secular government. Churches are for god slogans, private property or businesses owned by individuals are free to display their god slogans, but In God We Trust does not belong on federal or state, or town buildings and land. It does not belong on Federal currency, documents, etc. However, blatant violation of the Constitution and Separation of Church and State is allowed to happen in many places across our secular nation. And now, members of the Lancaster, Calif., City Council recently approved unanimously a resolution ordering the display of “In God We Trust” on the back wall of the council chambers.

One of America’s greatest achievements is the separation of church and state — and the subsequent religious liberty it guarantees each of us. In the United States, you can believe in any religion you like and still be a patriotic American. You can join one of the hundreds of Christian denominations or you can be a Jew, a Muslim, a Buddhist, a Hindu or anything else your conscience tell you to. (Heck, you can even come up with your own religion; more than one American has.)But just as importantly, you can reject all religious beliefs and follow no spiritual path at all. Millions of Americans do that today, and they’re just as patriotic as Councilwoman Marquez and her colleagues – maybe more so.

More will of the people bull crap.
I am amazed how a certain atheist over at GifS can say that this is "nitpicky" etc...I tried to explain to him that allow this and it goes on to prayer time in schools, and reading the bible in school, and education and government get lost in lieu of what should stay at a church service.
