LOL
I did a post about the Mayan calendar, which supposedly "something bad" will happen in 2012. I did it mostly for a joke.

Whats funny or maybe a bit annoying is, for those people that obviously believe in this stuff, they probably don't think there is any point of trying to save the environment. On the other hand, the way we are treating this planet, I really wonder just how long we will last anyway.....

I guess I should stop contributing 17% of my salary to my 401K and start living like there's going to be no tomorrow!

I know what you mean.

The end-of-timers don't care about the environment because they think that the world is going to end not thinking that the actions of not taking care of the environment is bringing the world closer to disaster and they don't even care because they think they will have streets paved with gold and that whole "many mansions" scenerio from the bible. They all actually think they deserve this imagined "paradise" in the lap of heavenly bliss for doing absolutely nothing but believing in their imaginary friend.

Well, we are digging up the bones and artifacts of whole civilizations who believed they were going to another life in another dimension with all of their worldly crap. In the future, if humanity can survive another thousand years they will be digging up our bones and artifacts. In that way, humanity is never ending...neverending cycle of digging up bones of the past and hoping for an imaginary afterlife.

I already have one - It's called a large ice cold bottle of vodka & a digital camera to capture the moment [laughs]
